PUBLIC NOTICE: PECOS COUNTY 2021 REVISED COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCT PLAN

By order dated December 13, 2021 (“2021 Order”), the Pecos County Commissioners Court (“Commissioners Court”), the governing body of Pecos County, Texas (“County”), approved the 2021 Revised Pecos County Election Precinct Plan (“2021 Revised Plan”) pursuant to Chapter 42 of the Texas Election Code and other authority. The 2021 Revised Plan made changes to the County’s existing election precinct plan. The 2021 Revised Plan shall take effect on and after January 1, 2022.

The following is a brief, general description of the changes made in the County’s existing election precinct boundaries as described in the 2021 Revised Plan, said changes made by the Commissioners Court a result of county commissioner precinct changes made pursuant to the County’s 2021 redistricting project, and/or for the efficiency and convenience in the holding of elections in Pecos County, Texas: (1) certain territory was transferred from Election Precinct 7 to Election Precinct 10 in or near the City of Fort Stockton, Texas in the general area of northwest Railroad Avenue and north of East 18th Street, then southeast along Interstate 10 (passing North Urias Street) to the west boundary of a prison facility property, then south and east following an unnamed census block boundary to the South Orient Rail Line property, west to West Railroad Avenue, and then to the place of the beginning; (2) certain territory was transferred from Election Precinct 7 to Election Precinct 10 in or near the City of Fort Stockton, Texas in the general area of West 9th Street and North Butz Street, then on West 9th Street to North Gillis Street, south to West 6th Street, and east to North Butz Street, then north to the place of beginning; (3) certain territory was transferred from Election Precinct 1 to Election Precinct 10 in or near the City of Fort Stockton, Texas in the general area of West Railroad Avenue, then west along West 6th Street to North Butz Street, south to West 4th Street, west to North Texas Street, south to West 2nd Street, east to North Gillis Street, north to West 3rd Street, east to West Railroad Avenue, and then northeast along said avenue to the place of beginning. The remainder of the precincts described in the County’s existing election precinct plan were not revised by the 2021 Order.
